LIPOSUCTION

What is the LIPOSUCTION?

It is the process of removing the resistant fats in the body from the body with vacuum systems. Although liposuction can be applied to all body areas, it is often used to remove fat from the abdomen, legs, arms and jowl areas. Liposuction is not a weight loss method. It is used to remove resistant fat from areas that cannot be thinned by diet and sports.

Who is liposuction applied to?

Liposuction is used in the treatment of resistant fat in areas that cannot be thinned by diet and sports. It should not be seen as a weight loss method. It will not be possible to have proper body lines only with liposuction. The person should maintain their ideal weight by paying attention to what they eat and doing sports. It should be noted that liposuction is an auxiliary method.

How is liposuction done?

Liposuction is applied with the help of special devices. Fat cells are softened or liquefied by entering through small holes, and then the fat tissues are taken out of the body with special vacuum devices. Laser or ultrasound energy can be used to liquefy fats. Nowadays, laser or vaser liposuction is increasingly preferred because of less bleeding and more homogeneous melting of fats.

What is done before liposuction?

Before liposuction, if a diet is being done, if there is a weight loss process, it should be expected to reach the ideal weight. Having a regular diet and sports habits ensures that the results are better and permanent. Before liposuction, necessary tests for anesthesia are performed. Bleeding or coagulation disorder, the presence of varicose veins are questioned and if problems are seen, these conditions are treated first. As in all surgeries, smoking should be stopped at least 2 weeks before it will negatively affect the healing in liposuction.

What happens in the hospital process in the liposuction procedure?

Liposuction is a procedure that takes 1-3 hours depending on the size of the area, which is mostly performed under general anesthesia. Compression stockings are put on as a precaution before the operation. At the end of the operation, a special dressing is applied to the operation area and an abdominal corset is attached. 1 or rarely 2 days of hospitalization may be required. During your stay in the hospital, it is recommended to walk a lot in a slightly bent position.
